Forming a family through adoption is one of the greatest privileges I can imagine, and we are blessed in that the people in our lives are always thoughtful, compassionate and sensitive to the special circumstances that brought us together.
I do, though, get the occasional insensitive question from people who we only meet in passing - but I do appreciate that sometimes good intentions don't always get expressed the way they need to. I thought this blog post (link below) was really informative and a good reminder about how to ask questions of an adoptive family.

Our family has maintained an ongoing willingness to talk about adoption in the right context and in the right conditions, though I can see that the dynamics continue to change for my daughter as she grows older and navigates her life with more ownership, and thus begins to grasp a deeper meaning about her history – her’story’.
