Welcome to our Ice Palace!!

We have the most beautiful ice sculptures forming around our house! It has been THAT cold here for the better part of the past week.

The icicles are really stunning to see, especially from inside the house where they frame our vista into the garden. And we are watching them grow longer and longer by the day! Some of them are a metre long already (3 feet).

I remember reading about a hotel in Scandanavia that's made of ice - we are getting a little glimpse into what that must be like!

With temperatures expected to continue on the freezing side, we don't see any hope of a thaw anytime soon. But when it does ... I expect flooding will be on a few minds!

Cowgirl's school is still hopeful that they'll be open on Monday but that will depend on whether or not we get the expected snowfall over the next few days. It's been quite the extended winter holiday!
