Improvisation!

Today is a gorgeous, sunny, crisp, cold (very cold!), snowy day and we just HAD to get outside and take advantage of it all. And having been cooped up inside for the better part of yesterday, we all needed some movement and more fresh air, including Bella, who has missed her long morning walks in the countryside.

Our roads are still not in any condition for driving on with so much ice having built up underneath the new snowfall from last night, so we walked up to our local park where there are some perfectly small hills for Cowgirl to do some sledging. Unfortunately, we don't have a proper sledge (we've never had this much snow before!) but we improvised with one of my old kitchen trays, and one of Bella's spare leads. And it worked perfectly for Cowgirl.

We have no idea when schools will open again (for those of you in parts of the world such as Minnesota in the USA, you are probably really laughing silly right now at how things are standing still in the UK with only 12-18 inches of snow!). I'm hoping for a school re-start on Monday --- but there's more of the white flaky stuff predicted after the weekend, so we shall see.

(Below: A rather patient Cowgirl all ready for snowplay and waiting for mummy to take that photo!)

In the meantime, we're making the most of it all!
